CRAVE Omaha recently hosted the Greater Omaha Chamber and Peyton Manning as they presented a check to Peyton Manning’s PeyBack Foundation. Seventeen Omaha companies awarded a check for $68,850 to benefit the PeyBack Foundation, a thank you for the #OmahaOmaha phenomenon.
Manning’s PeyBack Foundation was established in 1999 and benefits disadvantaged youth. Every time Manning said “Omaha” during the AFC Championship game, donors agreed to pay $800 for a total of $24,800. For Super Bowl XLVIII the pledge went up to $1,500 each time “Omaha” was used for a total of $44,050.
“I can’t tell you how many suggestions I get on what word I should use next year — cities, states, businesses, a lot of websites,” Manning said at the city’s B’nai B’rith sports banquet. “I am here to tell you I am sticking with ‘Omaha!’”
We were thrilled that the Greater Omaha Chamber selected CRAVE to host the event and represent what Omaha has to offer. Manning loved his experience at CRAVE, as did the rest of our banquet guests. We are humbled to have Manning’s support in the Omaha community. Hearing him bark “Omaha! Omaha!” from the line of scrimmage next fall will remind us of our generous neighbors.
